Malar Palaiyan
Principal Counselling Psychologist
Registered Counselling Psychologist (SPS)
Approved Clinical Supervisor (SPS)
Ms Malar Palaiyan is a Registered Counselling Psychologist and Approved Clinical Supervisor with the Singapore Psychological Society. Drawing on over three decades of experience across education, national policy, crisis management, and private practice, she offers a grounded and nuanced approach to supporting individuals through mental health challenges.
Rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Malar works with children, youth, and couples — providing psychological and counselling support, clinical supervision for counsellors and psychologists, and mental health training for students, educators, and the wider community. She previously served as Head of the University Counselling Centre at NTU and spent nearly two decades as a Lead Specialist in Guidance at the Ministry of Education, where she helped shape national school counselling policy and practice.
Beyond the therapy room, Malar nurtures her own wellbeing through community volunteering, walks in nature, and yoga — values she carries into her work.
